Find Dhorme Chimeras Northeast of Grandport

Find Dhorme Chimeras on the overworld northeast of Grandport, and prepare Water-element coverage, healing, and defenses against heavy physical attacks. Mechabo Evolved requires three defeats after you repair Mechabo through Arise, Mechabo! and unlock Verun's follow-up quest at the Dwarven Forge.

Unlock the Hunt and Reach the Chimeras

Complete Arise, Mechabo! to repair Mechabo and meet the prerequisite for the follow-up upgrade quest.
Speak to Verun at the Dwarven Forge to unlock Mechabo Evolved, which begins with the Dhorme Chimera monster hunt.
Search the overworld northeast of Grandport for Dhorme Chimeras, the enemies required for this stage of the quest.
Defeat three Dhorme Chimeras to obtain the materials needed for the first stage of Mechabo Evolved.

Prepare for Physical Hits and Elemental Breath

Bring Water-element coverage as a practical starting option for these encounters. Pair it with reliable healing and defenses against heavy physical attacks, because Dhorme Chimeras apply dangerous physical pressure and use elemental breath. Keep a stagger-focused Vision equipped so your setup helps you break the enemy as well as survive its attacks.

Leave your healer free to recover the party when damage starts adding up. If staying alive is the problem, favor a safe recovery action over trying to squeeze in another attack. If the party is healthy, put that breathing room toward setting up the next stagger.

Reveal Weaknesses and Fight Around the Stagger

Exploit the revealed weaknesses to stagger the enemy. Breaking its defenses creates opportunities for extra turns and powerful Resonance attacks, giving you a clear opening to push the fight forward.
Time the attack that empties the stagger gauge before the enemy acts. A break skips the enemy's turn and gives the character who caused it an extra hit in the bonus phase, so the timing helps protect the party as well as improve your offense.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Spend the stagger opening on damage or recovery. Once the target is already staggered, use that window to hurt it or stabilize the party instead of spending more resources on stagger power you do not currently need.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Restore HP between Chimera encounters. Begin the next fight with the party recovered instead of carrying damage from the previous battle into another round of physical pressure and elemental breath.

Follow Mechabo's Upgrade Chain After the Hunt

The Dhorme Chimera materials advance the first stage of Mechabo Evolved. After that hunt, the quest continues with Medusae, Destroyers, and Sandworms in that order. Use the locations below to see where the chain takes you next.

The later Mechabo Unleashed hunts require Mahadevas and Malbodooms. Finishing the overall upgrade chain leads to the Mechabo Mania achievement. If that achievement is your goal, keep following the upgrade quests after the Dhorme Chimera stage rather than stopping once you have its materials.

Keep the Demo's Limits in Mind

The demo covers the opening through the first chapter and caps characters at level 15 and Vision mastery at rank five. Check those limits before repeating battles for another level or mastery reward.
