What is worth finishing in the demo?
Your most useful goals are to finish Chapter 1, collect all five Visions and the Siren Esper, complete side quests, and gather the 12 Tablet Shards. Your earned demo progress carries into the full game on the corresponding platform, so these tasks give you a save you can continue.
Know the story endpoint and progression caps
The demo covers Chapter 1, Tailing the Truth, from the opening through Siren's Tower and your departure by ship from Grandport. That departure is the story endpoint; you cannot proceed into Chapter 2 inside the demo. Characters stop at level 15, and Vision Mastery stops at Rank 5, so check both before settling into a long stretch of repeated battles.
Make these useful detours as you explore

Collect the Nodachi from the chest behind a staircase in the Earth Shrine. It is an early weapon upgrade for Lasswell and a worthwhile pickup while you are already exploring the opening. Make this a nearby equipment goal before committing extra time to repeated battles.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Collect Tronn, Leah, Warrior of Light, Terra and Cloud to finish the demo's set of five Visions. Make Cloud a deliberate detour because his Sanctum is away from the main story route. You can return for missed Visions, so revisit the ones you passed before spending a long time strengthening an unchanged setup.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Complete Dream of an Idealist in Grand Shel for Rain's early weapon upgrade. The quest is available at the start of Chapter 1 and rewards the Flomberge Great Sword, which improves his attack power and adds 140 base HP. Prioritize it when you want a concrete equipment reward from a side quest.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Gather the 12 Tablet Shards and hand them to the enigmatic princess at Oblivion Palace in the Kingdom of Grand Shell. The reward is the Stagger Ring, which increases stagger power by 10% when equipped. Watch for the golden sparkles on the ground as you explore, making the collection a useful goal alongside your story progress.Playing this video connects to YouTube.

Speak to the Moogle in Grandport to awaken your Visions and open additional abilities. Awakening uses magicite and is separate from the Mastery you develop through battles. Magicite shards and Tablet Shards are different items, so check the available upgrades and begin with the Visions you actually use.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Check the remaining demo goals
Include the Siren Esper, the remaining side quests and any optional encounters you want to attempt in your final check. Keep these goals separate from the ship departure that ends the story portion. Choose the extras that interest you before turning the demo into an extended grind.
| Goal | What to finish |
|---|---|
| Siren Esper | Collect the Siren Esper as part of your demo completion goals. |
| Side quests | Complete the demo's four side quests, including Dream of an Idealist. |
| Optional encounters | Take on Marauder and Antlion if you want extra fights beyond the main story. |
| Gilgamesh | His early appearance in Siren's Tower is not a normal winnable boss fight; defeating him is not required to finish the demo. |
Give extra battles a clear stopping point

Fight the chimera on the high plateau northeast of Moritor's Cave if you still want to strengthen your party. Treat this farming option as an extra after exploring and collecting your Visions. Choose a particular Mastery reward or a setup you want to test, then decide whether further battles are still useful.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Stop chasing further levels once you reach level 15, and stop chasing a Vision's higher Mastery rewards once it reaches Rank 5. Check another character's progress if you want to keep developing a different pairing. You do not need to max every available combination before continuing into the full game.
Prepare the demo save you want to continue
- Preserve a manual save or a local backup where possible before importing. This gives you a copy to keep while you check that the full game is using the demo progress you intended to continue.
- Check that the full game recognizes the intended demo save before continuing. Verify that you are selecting the progress you meant to carry over, and keep your backup until you are satisfied that the correct save is in use.
