Who joins your party?

Rain, Lasswell, Fina, Lid, Nichol, Jake, Sakura, and Archwitch Fina make up the permanent party in Final Fantasy Resonance. All eight join automatically through the story, with recruitment complete in Chapter 5.

You do not need a secret recruitment quest to collect the main cast. Their personal substories provide permanent attribute improvements. Visions expand a character's available skills without adding another permanent party member.

Use the joining chapter to check your story progress when someone has not arrived yet. The table covers the full-game roster, while the demo covers the opening through Chapter 1. Later recruits belong to the continuing full-game story.

03

Party members, Visions, and story guests

Permanent party members have their own attributes, roles, progression, and personal stories. Visions are echoes of Final Fantasy heroes that you equip to those characters, adding skills and options for party customization. Temporary story guests are a separate category from both your permanent recruits and your collectible Visions.

Your character's role gives you a starting point for choosing a setup. A commando Vision can add attacking options to a breaker, while a medic Vision can combine healing with a synergist's support. Choose a pairing that gives the character something useful to do when their usual job is already covered.

For example, Rain's Provoke ability draws attacks toward him and pairs well with Warrior of Light's counterattacking abilities. Sakura can pair with Terra for magic support and elemental coverage. Think of these as ways to develop the recruits already in your party, rather than additional characters to recruit.

04

Personal substories and permanent character upgrades

Look for optional quests marked with a blue exclamation point to develop the cast beyond story recruitment. These personal substories grant permanent character attribute improvements. Complete all eight to earn Conscience Renewed.

Start with a substory whose chapter and location fit your current progress. The reward is permanent character growth, so these quests remain useful after you have recruited the full party. Mysidia is worth keeping on your route for both Fina's and Sakura's personal stories.

What changes if you are playing the demo?

The demo covers the opening through Chapter 1, so use it to start developing your early party. It caps characters at level 15 and Vision mastery at rank five. Choose goals within those limits when deciding whether to keep fighting for upgrades. Demo save progress carries into the full game, where you can continue the adventure.
