Reach Whirlpool Hollow and Unlock Sephiroth
Prepare Your Party Before Entering

Sephiroth is level 45, so aim for at least level 45 before attempting the fight. His opening phase strongly favors physical damage, but later phases make elemental coverage, healing, and protection essential. Build around those jobs rather than filling every slot with damage.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Follow the Airship Route to Whirlpool Hollow

Enter the Vision cave beyond the whirlpool to face Sephiroth. The optional battle in Whirlpool Hollow is the encounter you must win to obtain his Vision.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Use Physical Damage and Respect His Parry Stance

Use Lid's Mecha Mog Scan to add an elemental weakness. The added weakness gives your elemental attackers a target for building stagger.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Switch to Elemental Attacks After His Transformation
Finish Before the Countdown Expires
- Favor Light attacks when his late-phase alignment allows them to work. Dark attacks can be absorbed in this stage, so choose your element carefully instead of repeating an earlier damage rotation.
Claim His Vision or Return With a Stronger Party
Victory unlocks Sephiroth as an equippable Vision and contributes to the 26-Vision collection achievement. His mastery rewards include guaranteed critical hits for limit bursts and Resonances, plus Dark damage absorption at mastery rank 9. Those are upgrades to develop after recruiting him, so build your first victory around the Visions you already own.
If Sephiroth overwhelms your party, continue through later chapters and return with stronger equipment, more awakening upgrades, and useful mastery abilities. The encounter is optional and is not permanently missable. Reaching the airship is your invitation to find him; you can save the victory for when your party can handle his phases.
